Meet Jess


tree 2 Jess Duboy (born in 1936 in Arkansas) is an American novelist, advertising guro, and singer/songwriter.

Duboy is probably best known for the creation of the world famous Toyota advertising campaigns, the “Toyotathon” and the “Sellathon.”

Duboy spent his early years focused on his theatrical interests attaining a Degree in Theater from the College of William & Mary.  Duboy made his home in Richmond, Virginia with his wife Betty (now celebrating 50 years together), 3 children and 8 grandchildren.

ScreenShot 2 As a vocalist, Duboy and The Hitch Hikers released a #1 record with ABC Paramount in 1957, “Beautiful Love.”  Duboy wrote, arranged, and performed “WooHoo,” a Top 10 Billboard hit in 1959.  Continuing his career as an entertainer, Jess Duboy spent ten years as a Disc Jockey earning a prestigious “Top 10” listing in Teen Magazine in 1964.

After years in the entertainment industry, Duboy founded his own advertising agency.  Notably, his creation of the “Toyotathon” and the “Sellathon” gained him national recognition.

Jess Duboy was inducted into the Broadcast Hall of Fame in 2002 after writing and performing over 18,000 television and radio commercials, a national record.
